Better Employment Connections is your perfect customised employment provider in Australia. We offer a flexible process designed to personalise the employment relationship between a job seeker and an employer. Helping job seekers living with disabilities to discover their interests, hone their skills, make them work-ready, and match them with employers in need of their specific skillset.
Our goal is to give confidence to both the job seeker and the employer that they are going to receive the best possible assistance every step of the way from training to post-employment. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to fulfill their potential in the workplace, regardless of any disability they may have.
Our Story
At Better Employment Connections, we have a strong desire to help people living with disabilities find better opportunities through customised employment options. Our desire is to also help improve the lives of people living with disabilities.
Our founder Amanda, has had first-hand experience of the difficulties and challenges that people living with disabilities face when it comes to finding support. These experiences have inspired her to initially establish Better Connections NT and now Better Employment Connections.
Since starting our journey, we have grown into a team of like-minded and passionate people sharing the same mission: to make Australia’s workplace more inclusive for people with special skills
Our Vision
We have a vision for a more inclusive workforce in Australia for people living with disabilities. Believing that our personalised employment program is the key to unlocking the potential for creating inclusive employment.
Our NDIS Customised Employment services involves matching an individual’s skills, interests and abilities to the specific needs of an employer. This can be done through a range of supports, including job coaching, work site accommodations, and assistive technology.
By taking an individualised approach, we can open up new opportunities for people living with disabilities to participate in the workforce and contribute their unique talents. Our team is committed to working with employers and employees to create employment arrangements that benefit everyone involved.
Meet The Executive Team
We are a group of dedicated individuals that are passionate to help people living with disabilities discover their interests, cultivate their skills, find the right jobs, and help them have the independence to live a better life.
Amanda Bartlem
Amanda is the owner and director of two businesses – Better Connections NT and Better Employment Connections. Both businesses are dedicated to finding ways of helping people living with disabilities find better opportunities and quality of life.
Having experienced the difficulties and challenges that people living with disabilities face when it comes to finding support, Amanda was inspired to establish her own businesses. She is passionate about helping others, and firmly believes that everyone has something to contribute in the workforce.
Since starting our journey we have grown into a team of like-minded and passionate people sharing the same mission: to make Australia’s workplace more inclusive for all people.
Shannon Kastellorizios
Shannon Kastellorizios is a passionate Community Services professional, with approximately seven years of experience working in the sector. One of Shannon’s driving forces is her dedication to access and equity for all, striving to break down barriers and promote diversity within workplaces and communities.
In her current role as Service Operations Manager, Shannon oversees a team that provides customised employment services to people with disabilities. When she’s not working hard for her clients, Shannon enjoys staying fit via regular workouts, quality time spent with family and friends, and exploring Australia’s diverse landscape.
Nicole Neuman
Nicole Neuman is a Customised Employment Specialist with over eight years’ experience in the disability industry. Nicole has worked in a variety of roles supporting students with disabilities, including in mainstream classrooms, work experience, VET courses, apprenticeships and careers. Nicole is also qualified with a Certificate IV Career Development, Diploma in Community and Certificate III Education.
What Nicole loves most is forming relationships with people from all walks of life and having an opportunity to make a real difference in someone’s life. “It’s more than just a job for me – it’s my passion!”
Jacquie Hunt
Jacquie Hunt has been in the employment industry for over five years, with three of those years spent at ironbark. She loves seeing people grow and develop their careers; it gives them a sense of purpose and makes them feel important in society.
In her spare time, Jacquie enjoys being a mum and spending time with her family. She also enjoys doing yoga, watching her team play AFL (Geelong), fishing and camping. Jacquie is an avid gardener and takes great pride in her garden.
